Aerosmith Hits No. 1 For The First Time After Half A Century Together

Aerosmith has managed one of the most impressive career turnarounds in rock music history. The band announced in the summer of 2024 that all future live dates would be canceled, as frontman and singer Steven Tyler’s vocal cord injuries had never healed properly. It seemed that an unofficial end to the legends had unceremoniously arrived, but thankfully, it would not be long before a new chapter would begin.

Aerosmith tributed Ozzy Osbourne shortly after his death at the MTV Video Music Awards, and that is where the musicians formed a relationship with English alternative star Yungblud. The two musical acts decided to collaborate on a project, and the One More Time EP was quick to come to fruition.

That set debuts at No. 1 on almost every ranking on which it appears in the United Kingdom, where Yungblud is a powerhouse and helps Aerosmith conquer multiple rosters for the first time.

Aerosmith Debuts One More Time at No. 1 on Almost Every Chart

The One More Time EP debuts on half a dozen charts across the Atlantic this week. The short set launches at No. 1 on all but one tally as it conquers the Official Albums, Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, Official Vinyl Albums, and Official Rock & Metal Albums rankings.

Aerosmith Finally Scores Its First No. 1 Album

Aerosmith scores its first No. 1 on four of those lists. Despite the fact that the band has been churning out huge hits and successful albums for decades, the rockers have never reached the summit on the general register of the most consumed projects in the U.K., nor the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, or Official Vinyl Albums tallies. In some instances, the group has come close to ruling in the past, but never quite made it to the top spot.

Yungblud’s Fourth No. 1 Album – And Second of 2025

Yungblud, meanwhile, earns his fourth No. 1, with all four winners reaching the top spot consecutively. Only his debut The Underrated Youth missed out on the main albums chart, where it peaked at No. 6. Yungblud has conquered the Official Albums list — a consumption ranking — with Weird!, his self-titled affair, Idols, and now One More Time.

2025 marks the first time Yungblud has collected multiple champions, as Idols spent a single turn at No. 1 back in July.

Aerosmith’s No. 1 Albums on the Rock Chart

The only chart where Aerosmith has previously led the charge in the U.K. is the Official Rock & Metal Albums list. The One More Time EP brings Aerosmith to the highest rung for the seventh time. Aerosmith has now conquered the ranking of the bestselling rock and metal releases in the nation with all of the following projects:

  • Nine Lives
  • A Little South of Sanity
  • Just Push Play
  • The Very Best Of
  • Music from Another Dimension!
  • Greatest Hits
  • One More Time with Yungblud

Yungblud scores not only his first No. 1 on the rock roster, but also his first appearance. Apparently, despite being heralded as one of the most exciting new names in the genre, the Official Charts Company has never labeled any of his studio efforts as “rock,” as perhaps they lean more into “alternative” music.

How Many Top 10 Albums Has Aerosmith Charted?

On both the Official Albums Sales and Official Vinyl Albums charts, Aerosmith doubles its total number of top 10s as the One More Time EP arrives. The band is up to 11 placements between Nos. 1 and 10 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums list, half a dozen on the Official Physical Albums ranking, and seven on the main roster of the most popular albums in the U.K.

Aerosmith and Yungblud Both Reach New Heights Together

The One More Time EP only fails to dominate in one arena: the Official Album Downloads tally, where it enters at No. 2. That is where Aerosmith scores its first top 10 win, as One More Time easily outpaces the No. 25 peak that both Music from Another Dimension! and Greatest Hits reached several years apart.

Yungblud continues his winning streak, as all five of his charting efforts have cracked the uppermost tier. The musician, who recently scored his first several Grammy nominations, does reach a new all-time high with One More Time. Previously, both The Underrated Youth and Idols peaked at No. 4, while Yungblud stalled at No. 5, and Weird! only climbed to No. 7.

“My Only Angel” Becomes a Hit Again as the EP Debuts

The One More Time EP features just five tracks. Lead single “My Only Angel” returns to both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales lists, reentering at Nos. 67 and 72 respectively. The project includes a handful of originals, as well as a remix of Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle,” which was originally released back in the ’70s.
