AC/DC’s ‘Back In Black’ Returns — In Multiple Forms

“Back in Black” is a very important phrase for AC/DC. It’s the name of one of the group’s most famous songs and also an album which includes the smash single. Both “Back in Black” titles have been hugely successful for AC/DC throughout the decades, and even in the year 2025, it’s that phrase that millions of people all around the world continue to hear as they both buy and stream the group’s catalog.

This week, “Back in Black” finds its way to multiple Billboard charts – in every form available.

“Back in Black” Becomes a Streaming Smash Again

The single “Back in Black” reappears on one tally in the United States. The smash finds its way to the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, coming in at No. 20.

“Back in Black” is one of only a handful of tracks that have spent half a decade on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking. The AC/DC cut wasn’t present on the streaming-only list just a few days ago. It recently passed 260 frames on the list, where it previously topped out at No. 3.

Back in Black – the Album – Returns

Back in Black, the full-length, also makes its way back to one roster. The set narrowly finds space on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, where it resettles at No. 50 — in last place on the ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in those styles.

That album has spent even more time on its respective list than “Back in Black” the single has on the tally where it returns, as the project has spent 411 turns as one of the biggest releases in rock, hard rock, and metal in the U.S.

AC/DC’s Album Lives on Multiple Tallies

Unlike “Back in Black” the song, Back in Black – the full-length – manages to appear on multiple rosters at the moment. It also holds steady at No. 16 on the Top Hard Rock Albums ranking. This is a special frame for Back in Black on that list, as it reaches 550 weeks as one of the biggest hard rock collections in the country.

“Back in Black” Joins “Thunderstruck”

AC/DC doubles up on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart this week as “Back in Black” returns. It joins “Thunderstruck,” which has spent about two months longer on the list and which this time around lifts from No. 8 to No. 6.
