7 Must-See TV Shows Coming Out In March From ‘Ted Lasso’ To ‘The Mandalorian’

March is kind of a stacked month, filled to the brim with really great TV shows. Many of the following are returning shows that we haven’t seen in years. Some are new. One made an appearance on my Best Shows Of 2022 list. These range from sci-fi to horror to comedy to character drama. Something for everyone, as they say.

The Mandalorian Season 3 — March 1st (Disney+)

The return of Mando and Baby Yoda at long last! The last episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 aired in December, 2020 so we really are a long ways out from that show, though the second half of The Book Of Boba Fett was very Mando-centric. Fans of the show should watch or read up on that show if they haven’t yet or you might be a little lost. Also, star Pedro Pascal is starring in a very similar show on HBO called The Last Of Us, where he plays a surrogate father to an impish youth.

Ted Lasso Season 3 — March 15th (Apple TV+)

I wasn’t as fond of the second season of Ted Lasso as I was the first. It was still endearing but between Ted’s panic attacks and Nathan’s descent into pretty much totally unprovoked villainy, it was just a much bigger downer than the first season. And frankly we don’t need Ted Lasso to be a downer. We need it to be one of the few shows that makes us feel good. That makes us believe. There were still some great moments. Hopefully Season 3 can recapture that magic since it will be the final season of the hit Apple TV+ soccer dramady.

Lucky Hank — March 19th (AMC / AMC+)

Bob Odenkirk returns to AMC after his masterful turn as Saul Goodman on Better Call Saul. He joins Aaron Zelman of Law & Order fame and Paul Lieberstein (who played Toby in The Office and was also showrunner on that wildly popular comedy series from Season 5 through 8). Lucky Hank is based on the book Straight Man by Richard Russo and looks like it could be a pretty entertaining character drama. I’m not sure how to feel about a bearded Odenkirk.

Yellowjackets Season 2 — March 26th (Showtime)

Yellowjackets was one of my favorite shows of 2022. It was one of my top 5 shows of the year, actually, along with Severance, Andor and—well, you can read my whole list of best shows right here. There were quite a few really great shows (and even some I missed!). Yellowjackets is everything I want in a TV show. It’s well-written, filled with an overwhelming sense of dread and impending doom and every actor on the show is fantastic. This is one of the shows I’m most excited for in all of 2022.

Succession Season 4 — March 26th (HBO)

Okay, I haven’t watched Succession (beyond the first episode) but I may just binge it since it’s so popular and well-reviewed and it might be fun to write about during its final season. Power, money, family drama, backstabbing and skullduggery, business shenanigans. I’m making all this up, actually, I have no idea what’s going on in this show beyond the first episode. But I hear it’s great so count me in!

The Power — March 31st (Amazon Prime Video)

The Power is based on Naomi Alderman’s international award-winning novel that I haven’t read and stars Ted Lasso alum Toheeb Jimoh, The United States of Tara alum Toni Collette and John Leguizamo. The premise is…kind of goofy sounding? Suddenly every teenage girl in the world can shoot electricity from their fingers and this, obviously, changes everything. I can see where this might come in very handy in certain dangerous situations, but dear god this also sounds like a recipe for disaster. Teenage girls are enough of a handful without electric superpowers.

White House Plumbers — March (HBO)

Justin Theroux and Woody Harrelson star as G. Gordon Liddy and E. Howard Hunt in this story of the Watergate scandal that brought down Nixon. Domnhall Gleeson and a bunch of other familiar faces round out the limited series cast. This is a fascinating moment in American history and looks pretty interesting. No set release date that I can find though I’m sure they’ll announce it the moment I publish this piece.
