The layer-2 ecosystem analytics platform L2beat stated that in October, all L2 activity had more transactions per second (TPS) than Ethereum.
Ethereum processed approximately 12.28 TPS on average on January 10 compared to the L2’s average of nearly 18.91 TPS. According to L2Beat archive, the first crossover between L2 and ETH average TPS was on September 24, 2021. The average TPS on L2 was 19.55 and on ETH was 13.34. The historical peak was attained during March 11, 2022 with L2 with 48.96 average TPS and ETH lacked behind with a average difference of 36 TPS.
