Shiba Inu Lead Developer Compares SHIB Woofpaper to Vitalik Solutions for Ethereum

Shiba Inu lead developer, draws parallels between the content of the Woofpaper draft and Buterin’s proposed solutions for Ethereum’s challenges.

Shiba Inu Lead Developer, Shytoshi Kusama, recently teased the Woofpaper v2, comparing its content to an article released by Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum. Buterin’s article presented three proposed solutions to the issues Ethereum faces.

“Did you leak the Woofpaper 2 draft to VB, bro,” Kusama asked Kaal Dhairya in a recent light-hearted tweet. The comment came on the back of an article highlighting the solutions recently proposed by Buterin.

The remark from Kusama has elicited varied responses from the Shiba Inu community, especially because the Woofpaper v2 is already accessible to the public. Some proponents speculate that the community-appointed Shiba Inu leader could be referring to drafts of the Woofpaper v3.

Solutions to Ethereum’s Challenges

Notably, Vitalik Buterin released an article yesterday outlining three things Ethereum needs to survive. According to the report, for Ethereum to remain the top blockchain ecosystem, there needs to be a transition to roll-ups (layer-2), smart contract wallets, and privacy-oriented measures.

The article emphasizes that Ethereum needs to achieve all three transitions to remain “alive.” Moving to roll-ups will provide significant scaling support to Ethereum, especially during a bull market when the network sees a surge of activity and a subsequent bump in transaction fees. Layer-2 scaling solutions can address this challenge.

In addition, Buterin’s article stresses the importance of smart contract wallets to resolve security issues. The report notes that deploying privacy-oriented measures could help address investors’ privacy concerns. Buterin admitted that these measures could come with unique challenges, but they remain essential.

Does Shiba Inu Already Address These?

Kusama’s response to Buterin’s article implies that the Shiba Inu ecosystem already has answers to these problems. A particular focus is on Shibarium, the upcoming layer-2 network for Shiba Inu.

In terms of scalability, Shibarium, by its very nature, already addresses Ethereum’s scaling issues. Layer-2 networks like Shibarium act as a second layer for layer-1 blockchains like Ethereum. They assist L1 blockchains by taking up some of the work (transactions) on the blockchain, reducing their load.

Moreover, Shibarium promises high-grade security for users. The network aims to achieve this by combining PoS validators and the Plasma framework. Regarding privacy, Shibarium also has the potential to address users’ privacy concerns. This could be implemented through integration with Bermuda, a privacy-oriented blockchain solution.

While these are potential ways in which Shibarium addresses the concerns raised by Buterin, it remains to be seen if Kusama made reference to more efficient measures detailed in drafts of an unreleased Woofpaper version.
