Lido Impact Staking, an impact staking platform that leverages Lido’s proven, scalable middleware, has just announced its official launch today, marking a notable milestone for the crypto community.
Following its design, Lido Impact Staking has been built to support social impact in data-rich contexts and provide long-term funding through Ethereum Staking. The platform leverages Ethereum staking rewards and Lido middleware to redefine sustainable funding for social impact.
The founder of Lido Impact Staking, Jaydeep Korde, commented on the launch while hinting at its relevance of Impact staking;
“We need new financial tools to solve problems that have a new scale. Impact staking changes what it means to be a donor, by not needing them to give away their capital, rather the opportunity cost of some of their staking return”
“Impact staking is a new open source financial tool that creates impact in the real world for real people,” he added.

Lido Impact Staking Introduces a New Approach to Social Impact
While it aims to combine revolutionize traditional philanthropy by combining Ethereum staking with social impact, Lido Impact Staking allows users to stake ETH, stETH, or wstETH and allocate a percentage of staking rewards to social impact projects of their choice. With this innovative model, individuals, organizations, and DAOs can support causes transparently and perpetually without ever compromising their original capital.
Central to LIS’ unique model is the permissionless framework it features. This feature allows any social impact project access to register on the platform. While this serves to decentralize and democratize philanthropy, it aligns with the platform’s mission to introduce a new era of accessible, sustainable social impact funding.
With the launch of LIS, staking returns will now be transformed into a sustainable funding source for social good, allowing donors to support meaningful change without relinquishing their capital.
While LIS is keen on providing enduring funding streams for critical causes and reshaping philanthropy through Ethereum staking, the platform will focus on providing direct cash transfers through its Givedirectly initiative. This enables individuals in poverty to make independent financial decisions and address their needs.
The platform will also introduce a Treedom initiative, which aims to drive reforestation and carbon removal through sustainable tree cultivation, creating environmental and social benefits.
Nonetheless, some of the core features of the platform include long-term social impact, transparency and trust, financial flexibility, and sustainable giving.
