Fresh on-chain analysis reveals that large investors — likely U.S.-listed firms and institutional players — have been on a major Ethereum buying spree over the past month.
Since July 10, more than 1.03 million ETH, worth roughly $4.16 billion, has been acquired via exchanges and institutional trading desks.
This wave of accumulation coincided with Ethereum’s sharp climb from $2,600 to $4,000, a 45% rally. Based on transaction patterns, the average purchase price sits near $3,546. Analysts suggest much of this buying is tied to corporate balance sheets seeking long-term exposure to ETH.
These figures exclude the activity of SharpLink Gaming, which has made its own splash in the market. Under the leadership of Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin, the firm has built a $2 billion ETH treasury in just two months, financed in part by over $540 million in share sales. All of SharpLink’s holdings are staked, generating more than $3.4 million in rewards since June.
If the trend continues, institutions could be positioning themselves ahead of potential catalysts like spot ETH ETF approvals or expanded staking adoption in traditional finance.
