COINOTAG News reported on December 5 that on-chain sleuth ZachXBT claimed in his personal channel that a UK-based hacker known as Danny/Meech (Danish Zulfiqar/Khan) was reportedly arrested by law enforcement, with crypto assets seized.
The investigation ties him to the $243 million Genesis creditor theft in August 2024, with co-actors named Malone, Veer, Chen, and Jeandiel.
Additionally, Danny is linked to the August 2023 SIM card swap attack, which exposed creditor data for BlockFi, Genesis, and FTX and spurred social-engineering schemes that contributed to losses exceeding $300 million.
In fresh on-chain activity, multiple addresses associated with him merged and moved about $18.58 million to an address beginning with 0xb37d, echoing a pattern seen in prior asset seizure actions.
