The co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain project has heaped praise on the SHIB token for the launch of the AI Existential Safety Fellowship.
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), has expressed gratitude to the Shiba Inu community and the project’s native token, SHIB, for making the fellowship of Artificial Intelligence Existential Safety a possibility.
The Ethereum co-founder made a comment in response to a tweet from Max Tegmark,
“Please welcome our first class of @VitalikButerin. Fellows in AI Existential Safety, and consider collaborating with them to ensure that AI become the best rather than worst thing to happen to humanity!”
Responding to the tweet, Buterin noted that the fellowship would not have been possible without members of the Shiba Inu community as well as the SHIB token.
“Big thanks to the Shiba Inu community, whose cryptocurrency made these fellowships possible,” Buterin said.

The AI Existential Safety is a fellowship launched by Buterin to provide necessary funds that will aid Ph.D. students working on AI existential safety research this year.
The fund will cater to Ph.D. students’ fees throughout the five-year duration of their program. Ph.D. students who plan to work on AI existential safety research in various universities in countries such as the U.S., United Kingdom, and Canada will be entitled to a scholarship of up to $40,000.
An additional $10,000 fund will be made available to cover the expenses required to conduct quality research on AI existential safety.
Notably, the stipend amounts will be adjusted for Ph.D. students outside the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., who also plan to research AI existential safety.
