Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Mentioned the Problem in ETH: “It May Not Be Solved in 20 Years!”

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin says node centralization is one of Ethereum’s main problems, but the perfect solution may not come for another 20 years.

Vitalik Buterin Pointed Out the Node Problem in Ethereum

According to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, centralization of nodes is one of the biggest problems facing the Ethereum network and should be addressed by making nodes cheaper and easier to run.

Currently, the majority of the 5,901 active Ethereum nodes are operated through centralized web providers such as Amazon Web Services, which many experts argue exposes the Ethereum blockchain to a central point of failure.

Speaking at Korea Blockchain Week, Buterin outlined the key issues that need to be addressed to solve centralization, but emphasized that the node issue is “a big piece of the puzzle” to ensure the Ethereum network is decentralized in the long term.

It is claimed that ETH has become more centralized and has lost its decentralization compared to before, especially since Ethereum mining ended and the PoS system was switched to.
