A new move came from Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who influenced the market with his posts and statements.
Accordingly, Vitalik Buterin donated more than $760,000 worth of Ethereum to two projects, stating that they are advancing digital privacy.
At this point, Buterin donated ETH to two privacy-focused crypto messaging apps to support their work in this field.
In his post from his X account, Buterin announced that he donated 128 ETH each to the applications called Session and SimpleX Chat.
“Encrypted messaging like Signal is critical to protecting our digital privacy. The next major step in this area is permissionless account creation and metadata privacy.
Session and SimpleX are two messaging apps that take these aspects further.
That’s why I donated 128 ETH to each of them.”
Both apps Buterin donated to are known for offering next-generation privacy solutions that operate decentrally, without requiring phone numbers or collecting data.
At this point, Buterin said both apps really need to continue to provide the best user experience and security, because strong metadata privacy requires decentralization, and “decentralization is hard, and having users expect multi-device support makes everything even harder.”
Finally, Buterin stated that he downloaded and used these two applications and recommended that his followers download and use them as well.
