Ethereum’s price outlook has been sharply upgraded by Standard Chartered, which now sees the token reaching $7,500 by year-end – nearly double its previous $4,000 target.
The bank also lifted its 2028 projection to $25,000 from $7,500, citing stronger institutional demand and a growing wave of corporate treasury allocations.
The revised call comes just months after the bank slashed its 2025 forecast from $10,000 to $4,000 over concerns about slowing on-chain activity and revenue migration to Layer-2 networks such as Coinbase’s Base.
Those earlier headwinds remain, but recent trends – particularly treasury accumulation that could eventually lock up 10% of Ethereum’s supply – have shifted the bank’s stance.
Ethereum’s price has climbed to around $4,679, matching levels last seen in November 2021. Standard Chartered says the renewed momentum is backed by increased staking, deeper engagement with decentralized finance, and infrastructure growth that could sustain demand.
The dynamic mirrors Bitcoin’s earlier adoption by corporate balance sheets, which helped transform market liquidity and sentiment.
While the forecast is still dependent on factors such as regulatory clarity, competition from other smart contract platforms, and upcoming protocol upgrades, the bank now frames Ethereum’s long-term potential in a higher valuation bracket.
If corporate participation continues to expand, Ethereum could increasingly be viewed as both a settlement layer and a yield-generating asset – a combination the bank believes could drive substantial appreciation over the next few years.
