Can Ethereum Really Hit $10,000 This Bull Cycle?

  • Ethereum could rally to $10,000–$20,000 if it breaks highs.
  • Stablecoins may reach $10 trillion market size by year 2028.
  • Ethena’s rapid growth could soon overtake USDC in market supply.

The crypto market is holding its breath as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell prepares to deliver his Jackson Hole speech. With Bitcoin hovering near $113,500 and Ethereum trading just above $4,200, uncertainty is high.

Against this backdrop, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes has laid out his bullish long-term vision for Ethereum and selected altcoins, arguing that the coming years could redefine the size and scale of the digital asset market.

He said that the political and economic backdrop in the United States points toward aggressive money printing in the years ahead, especially as election pressures mount. If that happens, crypto markets may remain in a bullish phase through 2027 or even 2028.

Why Ethereum Holds More Potential

While Bitcoin has already surged far beyond its previous all-time high, Ethereum is only beginning to recover lost ground. Hayes sees this as a setup for a powerful “catch-up” rally.

If Ethereum clears its old highs, the market could quickly reprice it. Hayes’ long-term projections hint at a move into the $10,000 to $20,000 range.

Stablecoins and the Rise of New Altcoins

The analyst thinks the next big crypto boom will be powered by stablecoins. The dollar-backed tokens could grow into a $10 trillion market by 2028, becoming a huge part of global finance. In his view, stablecoins won’t just be used for trading but will also earn money through U.S. Treasuries.

When it comes to altcoins to watch, Hayes points to Ethereum, Ethena, and Hyperliquid. Ethereum is still the backbone of most crypto activity, especially stablecoins and DeFi. Ethena is growing fast, with its supply already doubling, and he even sees it overtaking USDC in size.

Hyperliquid is newer but shows big potential in a market that’s hungry for yield. Hayes said these three coins could be some of the biggest winners as stablecoins reshape the crypto landscape.
