WWE SmackDown advertised Jey Uso coming home after he chose the Bloodline this past Monday in a dramatic heel turn against Sami Zayn. The Bloodline, minus Sami Zayn, appears to be whole again. But the entire Bloodline storyline has not existed without dissension within the group.
SmackDown also advertised a Fatal 5-Way to become No. 1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship with Xavier Woods replacing the injured Kofi Kingston.
Last week’s broadcast of SmackDown from Montreal drew 2.451 million viewers.

WWE SmackDown Winners and Grades
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre win Fatal 5-Way
The Fatal 5-Way took up the majority of the first 30 minutes of this show, but it felt like 15.
There was a Dusty Finish where both Sheamus and McIntyre scored separate pinfalls simultaneously. finishes like this typically get booed, but WWE can do no wrong with its audience, so fans began chanting “Triple Threat!”
Next week, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre will battle one-on-one to see who gets the shot at GUNTHER. I expect another Dusty finish, which is fitting as the WrestleMania main event revolves around The American Dream.
Fatal 5-Way Grade: A-
Rey Mysterio Inducted in WWE Hall of Fame
Rey Mysterio became the rare active competitor to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and I’m guessing this is all being done as part of his ongoing angle with Dominik Mysterio.
I hope WWE goes through with Mysterio’s Hall of Fame induction just so Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley can interrupt him. Having said that, WWE is essentially sacrificing the induction of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time for a storyline.
Judgment Day def. Legado Del Fantasma
Santos Escobar’s babyface turn feels temporary, especially if he’s still associated with Legado Del Fantasma. I could see Escobar feuding with Rey Mysterio after WrestleMania.
Dominik Mysterio picked up another win by nefarious means, but he’s quietly building one of the most impressive win streaks in WWE.
Though Rey Mysterio once again refrained from getting physical with Dominik, he dodged a charging Mysterio, who went flying out of the ring.
Judgment Day vs. Legado Del Fantasma Grade: B
The Viking Raiders def. Ricochet and Braun Strowman
Both of these teams are in the “running out of time” category on the road to WrestleMania. I was quietly hoping Strowman and Ricochet’s pairing would lead to a feud between the two stemming from “flippy-flopper gate.”
Ricochet missed his 450 splash because he took too much time being terrified of Valhalla. This led to a splash from Ivar and the win. To make matters worse, it was suggested that Valhalla put a spell on Pretty Ricky.
Viking Raiders vs. Ricochet and Braun Strowman Grade: B-
Charlotte Flair def. Shotzi
Rhea Ripley walked out in the middle of this match and before it went to commercial.
Charlotte’s feud last year against Ronda Rousey was highly physical, while the build for Ripley vs. Flair this year has featured no physicality whatsoever. In fact, most of WWE’s top feuds—Reigns-Rhodes, Lashley-Wyatt and Lesnar-Omos—have also featured no physicality. Clearly, Triple H is a fan of holding off on opponents touching until the match itself.
Ripley was showered with “what” chants while telling Charlotte Flair she was going to take her title. Charlotte had to take a beat during her promo against Ripley, seemingly to remember her lines.
Charlotte Flair vs. Shotzi Grade: C+
Jey Uso Explains His Actions
This segment was described as “The Prodigal Brother Returns.”
When the show began, Jey Uso still seemed reluctant to be part of The Bloodline. As has been the case throughout the entire Bloodline story, dissension within the Bloodline remains.
Jimmy Uso was much more happy-go-lucky than Jey. Jey Uso went as far as to say he didn’t want to do what he did to Sami Zayn, he did it because he had to.
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn brawled with The Bloodline to end the show, and I was slightly surprise Roman Reigns was not featured on this show.
Jey Uso Main event Segment Grade: B+
