Today’s Wordle Word Of The Day #527 Hints, Clues And Answer For Monday, November 28th

Monday returns as November draws to an end. Thursday we kick off December and enter the final stretch of 2022—one of the strangest years of my life, filled with contradictions, good and bad luck, and lots of change.

I’ve carried out a months-long rivalry this year also, not with a human being, but with the diabolical Wordle Bot, that dastardly villain. Sometimes I get the better of him. Sometimes he rubs my face in the proverbial dirt. Either way, we have been locked in a metaphorical combat of wits since The New York Times back in April.

Thanksgiving is over and Black Friday has faded into distant memory. Today is Cyber Monday—just in case you didn’t part with enough of your hard-earned cash already. One thing you don’t have to spend money on is your daily Wordle. So let’s solve it together!

Today’s Wordle Solution (beware of spoilers!)

The Hint: Lukewarm.

The Clue: There are more consonants than vowels in this word.

The Answer:

I feel pretty happy with this Wordle. (Though not as happy as yesterday’s Wordle!)

Chore must have been on my mind as I need to play task-master and get my kids to clean this week after a fun-filled weekend jam-packed with friends and frivolity. It wasn’t a great opener, however, leaving me with a whopping 369 remaining possibilities.

Spain slashed that to just 3 and earned me a puzzling ‘Nice vocabulary!’ compliment from Wordle Bot. Is knowing the word Spain a marker of a good vocabulary? I don’t think so. You could almost describe my reaction to this praise—which feels a little sarcastic to me—as tepid, which I guessed out of those three remaining options (petit and equip were the other possibilities).

I got it in three! Huzzah! So did Wordle Bot! Boo!

He also cheats I think. He began with slate as per usual and then, bizarrely, guessed titer. What kind of second guess is titer? Who guesses that word in the first place? Regardless, that got him to tepid on guess #3. Go figure.

Have a lovely and relaxing and productive Monday, dearest Wordlers!
