Today’s Wordle Hints, Clues And Answer — Saturday, September 17th (#455)

Saturday at last! We’ve finally arrived at the weekend and, as we all know, weekends are for Wordlers.

This is good news for us, oh dearest readers, for we are the Warriors of Wordle. I like to imagine that many of you show up just to compare notes (and feel free to send me your Wordle stories, successes and epic fails on Twitter or Facebook!) and some of you come for the hint or clue and a few of you come to see where you went wrong.

Whatever your reasons, I’m very happy you’re here. Hopefully you’re having a lovely last weekend of summer. We’re just days away from the Autumnal Equinox and the beginning of the very best season, though there’s a sort of bittersweetness to this time of year.

In any case, grab your coffee and a slice of toast with jam and let’s do this Wordle (oh great, now I have the sudden urge to bake some fresh crusty bread and make some homemade strawberry jam . . . which means I’ll probably do that now. Sigh).

Today’s Wordle #455 Answer, Hint & Clues

The Warning: Is a spoiler warning. Spoil might actually make a decent starting word, too!

The Hint: Often paired with ladders.

The Clue: Pronunciation and spelling are not a perfect match with this word.

The Answer:

I was trying to come up with a word with lots of vowels and decided on orate which turned out to be an awesome opening guess, leaving me with just 12 possible options. I really don’t understand Wordle Bot saying this is just a 95 skill word or that I only gained 69% info. I eliminated nearly 2,000 possible solutions. How is that 69%?

Then again, it still took me several more guesses to get the answer. Wordle Bot said that instead of spite I should have guessed sushi and yeah, that tracks. I would have gotten the ‘U’ and the ‘H’ and from there, already knowing where the ‘T’ and the ‘E’ went I would have gotten chute on guess #3 instead of wasting time with flute.

C’est la vie! You win some, you lose some and sometimes you win some just a little bit slower than you could have. It’s still winning. And I’m still having fun!

Happy Saturday everybody! Be well!
