Saturday Schedule, Odds, Spread Picks And Score Predictions

A slew of 2022 NFL preseason games are taking place today, making Saturday the most action-packed day of Week 3.

With only two game days left before the exhibition schedule comes to an end, this is an important time for teams still seeking to sort out positional battles or determine which players will survive final cuts on Tuesday.

While projected starters aren’t likely to see much action during these matchups, they are still worth watching for fans and bettors alike.

Three of these contests will be nationally televised by the NFL Network.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons get things started at 3 p.m. ET, an intriguing late-afternoon clash between up-and-coming teams with exciting young talent on their respective rosters.

That game leads into a primetime Super Bowl LVI rematch between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. This marquee showdown kicks off at 6 p.m. ET, setting the stage for an exciting late-night bout.

The national TV tripleheader winds down with a pair of playoff hopes in the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos going head-to-head at 9 p.m. ET.

NFL Preseason Week 3 Betting Odds and Predictions: Saturday, August 27

Jacksonville Jaguars at Atlanta Falcons

Point Spread: Falcons -3.5

Total: Over-Under 36.5

Moneyline: ATL -195, JAX +160

The Jaguars opened as slight, one-point road underdogs against the Falcons in this contest. That line has since been pushed up to 3.5 or even four at many shops.

It’s hard to fault the public for fading Jacksonville after an 0-3 performance this preseason. Only 43 percent of the bets made against the spread are on the Jags to cover this afternoon.

Sharper bettors are making a contrarian play on this contest, however, evidenced by a whopping 93 percent of the handle on Jacksonville’s side.

Trend to Know: The Falcons have covered the spread in each of their last six games against the Jaguars. The total has gone under in five of the last six matchups involving these teams as well.

Pick: ATL -3.5

Prediction: Falcons 20 – Jaguars 14

Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals

Point Spread: CIN -2.5

Total: Over-Under 37.5

Moneyline: CIN -145, LAR +120

The Bengals are favored to get some modicum of revenge over the Rams today in this low-stakes Super Bowl rematch. Cincinnati opened as a 2.5-point home favorite and the spread hasn’t deviated much from that mark in the days leading up to the contest.

The public is split on this matchup in terms of tickets, but the wise guys are projecting yet another Rams victory. While 51 percent of all bets made are on Cincinnati’s side, only 21 percent of the cash wagered is on the team to cover.

Considering the Bengals are 0-2 during the 2022 preseason and have only covered twice in their previous nine exhibition contests, it’s easy to see why more informed bettors are going against them today.

Trend to Know: All six of the previous meetings between these clubs have gone under the total.

Pick: LAR +2.5

Prediction: Rams 21 – Bengals 20

Minnesota Vikings at Denver Broncos

Point Spread: DEN -1.5

Total: Over-Under 35.5

Moneyline: DEN -115, MIN -105

The spread on tonight’s Broncos-Vikings preseason matchup opened with Denver laying 2.5 points but has since dropped to DEN -1.5.

Although the underdog has covered in each of the last four meetings between these teams, an overwhelming majority of the public is taking the Broncos against the spread. With a few hours left until kickoff, 81 percent of the wagers are on Denver’s side.

Trend to Know: The Broncos loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week was their only defeat in their last six preseason contests. The team bested the Vikings by a massive 33-6 margin during last year’s exhibition slate as part of that five-game winning streak.

Pick: DEN -1.5

Prediction: Broncos 23 – Vikings 10
