Prince Harry May Not Attend King Charles’ Coronation

In a preview for his Sunday interview with ITV, Harry said “the ball is in their court” as to whether or not he will be invited to the coronation, and said there is “a lot to be discussed, and I’m really hoping they are willing to sit down and talk about it.”

Harry writes that he learned of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s death from the news, not his family, and that he was only able to say goodbye to her body once she had passed, according to the BBC.

Harry also included details about his past drug use, including cocaine as a teenager and psychedelics, which he’s used as “therapy, like medicine,” the BBC and the Associated Press reported, based on a Spanish version of the book they each obtained when they mistakenly went on sale early.

The BBC and the Associated Press noted in their coverage that the palace or other members of the royal family have not commented on any of the claims from Spare released so far.

Harry has received backlash for the way he wrote about killing 25 Taliban soldiers when he served in Afghanistan, describing doing so as taking “chess pieces” off a board; Retired Col. Richard Kemp called the comment an “error of judgment,” and a Taliban leader Anas Haqqani tweeted “not many have your decency to reveal their conscience and confess to their war crimes.”

In a preview for Harry’s Monday interview with Good Morning America, Harry said his late mother Princess Diana would be “sad” about the state of his relationship with his brother, Prince William.
