‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 6 And ‘For All Mankind’ Season 3 Arrive To Perfect Scores

Well, I still have to watch today’s episode of The Boys, but it’s clear I’m going to be eating good all weekend. Today also marks the return of two fantastic series on two other streaming services, both of which have arrived with perfect scores.

Peaky Blinders season 6, its final season, is now on Netflix after debuting in the UK a little while ago. For All Mankind, Apple TV Plus’s brilliant space drama, is now back for season 3 today. Both shows have a perfect 100% score from Rotten Tomatoes, based on the reviews that are in so far.

Season 2 and 3 of Peaky Blinders also have 100% scores, the others are more in the 85-90% range, but it’s one of Netflix’s highest quality series, even if it’s technically a UK BBC import and not a wholly original production. For All Mankind, meanwhile, is a standout series in Apple TV Plus’s growing collection of standout series. Season 2 also had a perfect 100% score, a marked improvement from season 1’s 74%.

Peaky Blinders, naturally, is available to binge all at once as Netflix maintains that release model. For All Mankind will follow the usual Apple schedule and release new episodes on Fridays, which is true of most of its series. Netflix remains the service that continues to offer batch episode drops, while its rivals all mostly spread shows around week to week. Some would say that’s because they have less content, others because it generates more conversation about the series.

I know Peaky Blinders is a hugely popular show, but I wonder if it has what it takes to unseat Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix’s Top 10 list any time soon, even after a week of that new season being out, given how many records Stranger Things has now broken. Apple, meanwhile, will just want For All Mankind to maintain the high bar of quality it’s already set, as the service isn’t looking to shatter any viewership records with its current reach. But I do highly recommend it, as it’s cheap, and features arguably the best overall collection of shows to watch outside of maybe HBO Max. I dismissed it at first too, but Apple’s lineup has really come a long way, and that’s in part thanks to shows like For All Mankind.

I will probably do The Boys, then For All Mankind’s premiere, then settle in to watch Peaky Blinders over the weekend. There are only six episodes in season 6, so that can be done in an afternoon, including its 82 minute finale. Can’t wait!
