Nevada Cannabis Firm Flower One Expands C-Suite With New Hire

Top Nevada-based cannabis cultivator and producer Flower One has made a key hire to its C-suite team. The company has named Tim Shoemake as chief operating officer. His appointment began June 28, 2022.

On Shoemake joining Flower One, Kellen O’Keefe, president and CEO of Flower One, expressed unbounded enthusiasm.

“We are very excited to have Tim on board, as he brings a unique combination of experience both inside and outside of cannabis to the table,” said O’Keefe, in a statement. “Tim’s expertise in large-scale, highly competitive perishable goods manufacturing makes him a valuable asset, and we look forward to working closely with him to assure we deliver the quality and consistency needed to be successful.”

Shoemake echoed O’Keefe’s enthusiasm.

“I am thrilled to be part of such a fantastic organization, with a clear vision and deep commitment to doing things right,” he said, also in a statement. “The leadership team is one of the best in the industry, and I am looking forward to helping Flower One achieve its goals.

Shoemake has amassed over 25 years of experience in global agriculture and food and beverage manufacturing for various brands and retailers. His agriculture experience includes complex supply chain and large-scale juice production for brands such as Naked Juice (which was sold by PepsiCo last year to private equity firm PAI Partners) and Evolution Fresh (recently sold by Starbucks to Bolthouse Farms).

After entering cannabis, Shoemake worked in the industry for both multistate and publicly-traded companies in California, Colorado and Nevada. According to his Linkedin profile, Shoemake worked as a chief operating officer at 3 Bros Companies, a California-based cannabis lifestyle and wellness dispensary, from September 2021 to June 2022. And prior to that, he did a brief stint as COO at Verde Natural, a Denver-based multistate operator that has operations in Southern California.

He is a graduate of Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management, and has served on multiple boards, including Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Agribusiness Advisory Council and the Orange County Fair’s Centennial Farm Foundation. Also, he is a certified connoisseur, having completed the ganjier certification courses, as a certified ganjier candidate.

Flower One currently produces a wide range of products from flower, full-spectrum oils, and distillates to finished consumer packaged goods, including a variety of pre-rolls, concentrates, edibles, topicals, and more for various cannabis brands.
