Lionel Messi Has House Ready For FC Barcelona Return As Club’s Legal Team And Player’s Camp Unite

Lionel Messi’s house has been prepared for him to return to FC Barcelona, with the club’s legal team and the player’s camp working on the World Cup winner being able to rejoin his boyhood outfit as a free agent this summer according to reports.

Messi memorably left Camp Nou for Paris Saint Germain in tears when the Catalans failed to navigate a strict salary cap and offer him a new contract in the summer of 2021.

Two years on, Messi is again set to switch allegiances when his deal at the Parc des Princes expires on June 30 with Barca interested in seeing him don his iconic number ’10’ shirt in Blaugrana colors once more.

Given Barca’s financial predicament, however, the potential operation is not straightforward. While warned by La Liga president Javier Tebas that they must shave their wage bill by €200 million ($214 million), Barca will most likely have to offload a number of players if Messi comes back or not.

In the meantime, though, the Catalan club’s legal department and Messi’s camp led by father and agent Jorge Messi are working on the potential return of the Argentine according Jijantes FC insider Gerard Romero.

Romero, who was the foremost source to break news of Barca’s dealings in the transfer market last summer, also says that Messi has his house in the western beach suburb of Castelldefels ready to be lived in again, and other outlets have reported that Barcelona is the most preferred next destination of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s family.

Yet Messi could also be temped by the MLS, where Inter Miami want him, or Saudi Arabia where both Mundo Deportivo and MARCA say that multi-million dollar proposals ranging between $240-350 million dollars await at Al-Hilal.

Barca simply can’t compete with these numbers even in the best of times, but president Joan Laporta has reportedly tabled a “final offer” to Messi when meeting with Jorge Messi in recent weeks.

It entails Messi earning a minimum yearly salary of €200,000 ($214 million), but then taking proceeds of up to €100 million ($107 million) from his farewell match.

With the 2022/2023 season finishing in late May, Messi is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
