Decentraland, one of the most popular metaverse platforms, announced the Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW), scheduled to be held between March 28-31, 2023, to experience the latest and upcoming advancements in metaverse interoperability and digital fashion. The theme of MVFW23 is ‘Future Heritage’ to connect fashion designers and creators worldwide.
Metaverse Fashion Week is returning this Spring, 2023, in collaboration with Spatial, one of the largest 3D social networks and OVER, a decentralized infrastructure for the AR metaverse. MVFW23 will take place across various metaverses, but the digital fashion will be presented in Decentraland’s Luxury District by Metaverse Group. Global fashion brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Ben Bridge and DNKY will display their virtual storefronts.
This year, popular brands that are participating in the event are Vogue Singapore, DUNDAS, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Ben Bridge, DNKY among others. The Adidas community will present the innovative creation of digital-only apparel from the three “Adidas virtual gear” stripes. OVER has partnered with Decentraland to showcase a cross-metaverse Wearable design competition. And the winners will be revealed on hybrid AR/IRL in Milan.
Head of Metaverse Fashion Week, Dr.Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro, said, “This year, we are incredibly honored to continue the legacy of Metaverse Fashion Week. We are seeing the return of many luxury fashion houses and the emergence and elevation of digitally native fashion.”
“We are excited to see the world’s greatest fashion minds engaging in digital fashion and exploring what it can mean for their brands, and for their communities,” Casimiro added.
DKNY, a New York-based fashion house created venue DKNY.3, which will host an art gallery, a rooftop lounge and a pizzeria. One of the leading US jeweler Ben Bridge will open its first store in the metaverse with unique Wearables. Tommy Hilfiger, one of the world’s leading lifestyle designer brands, MVFW, will experience daily product drops, AI-generated fashion winners will be hand-picked by Mr. Tommy Hilfiger.
Kraken, a digital asset platform, will display a fashion-themed non-fungible token (NFT) gallery. Earlier, the SEC had charged Kraken for breaching the nation’s security laws. In response, the agency reported that the crypto exchange had agreed to pay $30 million in penalties to settle the case. Earlier in Jan 2023, MANA, the native token of Decentraland, experienced a price surge. At press time, MANA was trading at $0.50, up by 2.43% in the past 24 hours.
