Cardano Highlighted Important Dates For Users of Vasil Upgradation

  • The Plutus V2 cost Model will be live on Mainnet on September 27.
  • The Upgradation will make major changes in the mainnet.

Cardano developer Input Output confirmed the expected launch of the Vasil upgrade, which took place on September 12 following “extensive testing” of all core components.

Cardano analytics platform Cexplorer posted on Twitter about the important dates for users to note. Firstly on September 19, the mainnet update proposal is expected to be submitted to trigger the hard fork event on September 22.

On September 22, Mainnet HFC will occur, it will also Usher in an era transition from Alonozo to Babbage, and Plutus V Cost Model will live on the Mainnet on September 27.

A crypto media outlet reported that Vasil’s capability would take five days to be live on the mainnet. IOG noted that Vasil’s capability would become available at the start of epoch 366 on September 27. The Plutus V2 cost Model will be live on the mainnet the same day.

As per the latest reports of IOG on ecosystem readiness, 97% of mainnet blocks have already been developed by Vasil node candidate 1.35.3, indicating that the “node readiness” metric has already been met. Seven top exchanges about their liquidity, namely Upbit, AAX, BKEX, Bitrue, MEX, and WhiteBIT, have already indicated Vasil’s readiness.

The Stake Pool Operators (SPOs) operating the recent 1.35.3 now justified 55% of mainnet block generation in the recent epoch. This is more than midway to the 75% needed to operate Vasil on the Cardano mainnet.

Coinbase, including three other exchanges in the top twelve listed exchanges, is working on the upgradation process. Six among the top ten Cardano dApps have reached the “tested” status in pre-production while under “Testing.”

Cardano has Celebrated the first Jubilee of Alonzo upgrade, which went live on the mainnet at 9:47 UTC on September 12.

The Upgradation brought Plutus smart contract capabilities to Cardano’s mainnet, enabling a host of new use cases for decentralized application (dApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions.

On August 26, Friday, Charles Hoskinson went live from Colorado, where he elaborated on the new update. The update is named after Bulgarian Mathematician and Cardano supporter Vasil Dabov. Hoskinson highlighted that things are going along rapidly. The developers and the community are managing in-depth tests, with the combination of work and framework looking good.
