The Texas Rangers Baseball Club has joined hands with global trading community Trade the Chain, making it the first crypto firm to be associated with a baseball club. Trade the Chain will provide sponsorship payments to the club that will be doled out entirely in crypto assets like bitcoin and ETH.
The Texas Rangers Team Is Working with Trade the Chain
This is the first Major League Baseball partnership to be based entirely on digital currency. Neil Leibman – the president of the Texas Rangers and the club’s chief operating officer – explained in a statement:
Trade The Chain’s mission to make cryptocurrency accessible to anyone makes them an excellent partner for our club as we begin a new journey in the digital finance space. Receiving the first portion of bitcoin and Ethereum was a truly momentous occasion for our partnerships and finance departments and the entire Rangers front office. We are thrilled to announce Trade the Chain as the proud cryptocurrency partner of the Texas Rangers and look forward to seeing this partnership grow.
Alex Mascioli – co-founder of Trade the Chain – also threw his two cents into the mix, commenting:
A Major League Baseball team accepting bitcoin and ETH as payment for a partnership is a watershed moment for cryptocurrencies. The Rangers have embraced our nascent industry from the onset, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with them.
Trade the Chain is known for employing a wide array of crypto tools and tactics designed to make the space easy to understand and accessible. Some of these tools include actionable sentiment indicators, real-time development alerts, and a price prediction algorithm. The company is usable by all who are interested in crypto, whether they’re experienced traders or just beginning to enter the space.
The world of professional sports and crypto are becoming one and the same. We are seeing a wide array of crypto partnerships pop up in the professional sports industry. In addition, we are also seeing a wide array of athletes accept crypto-based paychecks for their work on the court or field.
Pay Me in BTC!
This was a trend arguably started by Russell Okung of the Carolina Panthers football team. Last year, the player shocked everyone when he stated that he would be converting half his $13 million+ annual salary into BTC. When asked why he was taking this route, he commented:
Money is more than currency; it’s power. The way money is handled from creation to dissemination is part of that power. Getting paid in bitcoin is the first step of opting out of the corrupt, manipulated economy we all inhabit. Bitcoin fans are not only disrupting the status quo; we are reclaiming power that is rightly ours. PAY MEIN BITCOIN today becomes a reality thanks to Strike and the Panthers front office.
