On Thursday, 1st September, 2022, prominent crypto bank Sygnum made an announcement stepping into the metaverse. The announcement noted that Switzerland based banks would have a metaverse hub. Sygnum has chosen a popular platform based on the virtual browser of Decentraland.
Crypto bank has also decided the exact spot in the metaverse for its metaverse hub. This hub will be situated at the famous Time Square of New York, apparently in its virtual equivalent in Decentraland. Many other prominent brands like Samsung, Dolce & Gabbana and Adidas chose Decenltrand to mark their entry in the metaverse. It is worth mentioning that it is one of the largest metaverse projects out there in crypto space.
Chief client officer at Sygnum, Martin Burgherr said their metaverse hub will act as a natural place that would represent the Web innovations of Sygnum.
Further details about the Swiss crypto bank’s plan in the metaverse include to provide access to its users to Crypto Garden of Sygnum. This specific place would enlighten users about the bank’s vision for the blockchain and finance’s future.
The official statement noted that SYGN lounge-like places would also be another space for users to explore. In this lounge, there would be a CryptoPunk receptionist greeting the users new to the space. Additionally there will be an interactive NFT gallery which will be showcasing art pieces.
Since its launch in 2017, Sygnum showed its active participation in the Web 3 community by taking part in different projects. From participating in the tokenization of Cryptopunk #6808 like blue-chip NFT to offer staking of Ethereum 2.0, Sygnum took the lead everywhere.
Announcement of Sygnum entering the metaverse coincides with an instance of drop in sales of NFTs. A report says that several factors like geopolitical concerns and dropping interest towards the NFTs are affecting the non-fungible tokens market.
