Stripe has officially acquired Privy, the Web3 infrastructure startup focused on simplifying crypto onboarding and wallet integration.
The announcement, shared on June 11, marks a major milestone for the Privy team, which will continue operating independently under Stripe’s umbrella.
The move is designed to help developers build faster, launch smoother, and better serve their users—all without disrupting product experience or compromising compliance.
From Wallet Friction to Seamless Web3 UX
Three years ago, Privy set out to make wallet-based crypto products accessible to everyday users—not just power users. At the time, wallet interfaces were clunky, disconnected from product design, and difficult to integrate. Privy stepped in to fix that.
Today, the company powers over 75 million accounts across 1,000+ teams and supports billions of crypto-native transactions across wallets and apps.
