SEC Shifts Focus to Industry Engagement
Commissioner Hester Peirce, who leads the task force, emphasized that these roundtables aim to foster lively debates among experts on regulatory challenges and solutions. The SEC hopes to bring clarity to crypto regulations, shifting from the previous “regulation by enforcement” approach under former Chair Gary Gensler.
Upcoming Roundtable Schedule
The first roundtable was held last week, and the upcoming events include a discussion on “tailoring regulation for crypto trading” on April 11, followed by discussions on crypto custody (April 25), tokenization (May 12), and decentralized finance (June 6). All roundtables will be livestreamed from Washington D.C.
SEC Chair Nominee Paul Atkins’ Hearing
