Vyacheslav Taran has become the latest cryptocurrency figure to die under bizarre circumstances in recent weeks. The Russian billionaire helicopter mysteriously crashed in a resort town near Monaco, according to sources on November 29, 2022.
Taran becomes the third crypto figure to die in recent weeks
Russian crypto entrepreneur Vyacheslav Taran has become just the latest cryptocurrency figure to die under bizarre circumstances in recent weeks. The Forex Club and Libertex Founder, 53, was traveling from Lausanne in Switzerland when his helicopter went down in clear weather near the village of Eze, close to Villefranche-sur-Mer, a resort town on the French Riviera.
According to reports, Taran was on his way to Monaco with an experienced 35-year-old pilot before the aircraft went down. The chopper crashed into a hillside, and neither Taran nor the pilot survived the crash. In addition to the mysterious event, local news media have it that another passenger canceled at the last minute, though no details concerning the identity of the said passenger is remains unavailable.
“It is with great sadness that Libertex Group confirms the death of its co-founder and Chairman of Board of Directors, Vyacheslav Taran, after a helicopter crash that took place en route to Monaco on Friday, 25 November 2022,” Libertex said in a statement.
Some sources, including the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN, have claimed that Taran had ties to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
A formal investigation has been launched to uncover the details surrounding Taran’s mysterious demise. The deputy public prosecutor in charge of the case has hinted that the fault of a third party could not be ruled out entirely.
Taran has become the third high-profile crypto entrepreneur to die under mysterious circumstances lately.
A week ago, Nikolai Mushegian, 29, a popular cryptocurrency millionaire, drowned on a beach in Puerto Rico after tweeting that he suspects the CIA and Mossad were planning to kill him, while Tiantian Kullander, 30, passed away “in his sleep.”
Kullander’s crypto company, Amber Group, had just landed a $3 billion valuation earlier this year and was in the process of raising another $100 million in Series B funding before his sudden death.
