In a press release, Ripple announced that its institutional clients can now trade crypto derivatives listed on Coinbase Derivatives Exchange, with clearing provided by Nodal Clear. Ripple Prime clients gain access to a wide range of regulated U.S. futures contracts for cryptocurrencies.

This addition expands Ripple’s services beyond payments and XRP, offering regulated trading options through Ripple Prime. All contracts are available 24/7 in a CFTC-regulated environment, allowing clients to manage risk and participate in global markets efficiently.

Partnerships With Nodal Clear and Coinbase

Ripple’s collaboration with Nodal Clear ensures smooth clearing for all Coinbase Derivatives contracts. Paul Cusenza, Chairman and CEO of Nodal Clear, said, “We are pleased to welcome Ripple as a new clearing member of Nodal Clear.”

Boris Ilyevsky, Head of U.S. Futures Exchange at Coinbase, said,

“We’re pleased to collaborate with Ripple to continue expanding access to Coinbase Derivatives contracts.”

The partnerships connect Ripple’s institutional clients to U.S. derivatives markets under full regulatory oversight for the first time.

Range of Available Contracts

However, Coinbase Derivatives provides both traditional futures and U.S. perpetual-style futures for cryptocurrencies and commodities. Contracts include nano Bitcoin (BIT), nano Ethereum (ETH), and nano and institutional contracts for Solana (SOL) and XRP.

Ripple Prime enables this access through Hidden Road Partners CIV US LLC, the Futures Commission Merchant acquired by Ripple last year. Ripple Prime offers multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services, with over $3 trillion in transactions expected to be cleared in 2025.

Ripple’s Institutional Offering

Noel Kimmel, President of Ripple Prime, said,

“Offering the full suite of Coinbase Derivatives contracts within Ripple Prime’s framework provides increased market access and efficiency to institutions globally.”

Founded in 2012, Ripple provides blockchain-based solutions for payments, custody, liquidity, and treasury management. Its stablecoin RLUSD and cryptocurrency XRP support enterprise clients in moving, storing, and managing value worldwide.
