As Ripple (XRP) continues to develop and expand with steady steps, one executive argued that XRP needs to leverage Solana to continue its success.
Accordingly, Ripple global partner success manager Luke Judges said that XRP could benefit from the Solana (SOL) strategy to ensure its technology and developer tools can compete with layer-1 networks.
The Ripple executive stated that Solana’s (SOL) fast transaction and pragmatic strategy are essential for XRP’s long-term competitiveness.
Judges stated that technology alone cannot guarantee long-term competitiveness at this point, and pointed out that there are concerns that gaps may arise in product-business application power with the speed of ecosystem expansion in XRP.
“I think technology alone is not enough for XRP to remain competitive.
XRP needs to learn from Solana’s implementation approach to stay ahead of the competition.”
In sharp contrast to Judges’ views, Ripple Chief Technology Officer and architect of the XRP Ledger, David Schwartz, emphasized that XRP’s design philosophy focuses on reliability, efficiency, and enterprise-grade performance. Schwartz argued that this makes XRP inherently superior to high-throughput chains like Solana and that there’s no need to change its core strategy.
Schwartz criticized blockchains like Solana for prioritizing pure speed at the expense of stability, citing past network outages as evidence that this approach is unsuitable for real-world financial applications.
