Opera has announced that its Web3-focused crypto browser will offer support for BNB Chain. BNB Chain is the blockchain supporting the Binance ecosystem, and this latest integration is a step toward making the browser more accessible.
With this integration, users of the Opera Crypto Browser will have a way of accessing leading decentralized exchanges (DEX) such as PancakeSwap and the 1inch protocol that run on the BNB Chain.
Opera’s Crypto Browser supports BNB Chain
According to the official blog post, supporting BNB Chain will allow browser users to purchase the BNB token using fiat currency. Binance Coin (BNB) is the native token for BNB Chain. Brower users will be able to send and receive the token through the in-built Opera crypto wallet and access decentralized applications (dApps) on the BNB Chain.
Besides accessing the token, users will have seamless access to the buzzing decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. Innovative DeFi projects such as AutoShark Finance, ApeSwap, DRIP Venus, Tranchess and Treehouse will be within reach.
The release added, “With today’s announcement of BNB Chain integration, Opera continues to streamline mainstream access to Web3 and beyond. With the Opera Crypto Browser, existing users of BNB Chain dApps and token holders alike can now join the hundreds of millions of Windows, Android, and Mac users worldwide in having unique Webn3 access functionality at their fingertips.”
Opera’s venture into blockchain and Web3
Opera has been adamant about its plans to support the blockchain sector and Web3. The browser company has entered into partnerships with some of the leading blockchain networks in the sector. Besides BNB Chain, Opera’s Crypto Brower has also integrated other networks such as Bitcoin, Solana, Ronin, Celo, Polygon, StarkEx and the Nervous Network.
In an earlier announcement, Opera had announced that it did not plan to solely focus on a single token or blockchain. Instead, the browser announced that it wanted to integrate multiple blockchains and decentralized domain naming systems into its crypto browser. This will allow users to access more options and adopt extra features that support layer two.
Opera recently announced the beta release of its Web3 browser to be used on iOS devices, including iPhone and iPad. The Opera Crypto Browser project commenced in January, and the project is planning further expansion toward the next generation of the web. It also plans to integrate more functionality to support its traditional browser.
