NFL star Tom Brady praises Vitalik Buterin for his role in the crypto sector

Tom Brady, a popular NFL champion, has said that he is a big fan of Ethereum’s co-founder, Vitalik Buterin. Brady’s comments come a few days after Buterin was compared with the NFL star.

Last week, Time Magazine released its first NFT issue on the blockchain. Buterin was on the cover of the magazine. This was applauded by the majority of the cryptocurrency community, but there were a few trolling comments about Buterin’s appearance on the cover.

Buterin shared these negative comments on Twitter. The comments compared Buterin with Tom Brady, but the comparison with another version of Brady. While these trolling comments caught the attention of Buterin, he noted that he did not know who Brady was.

“I didn’t even know who Tom Brady is, I had to ask people around me. My best guess was that he was the actor from Mission Impossible,” Buterin said.

Despite Buterin not knowing Brady, it turns out that the NFL star knows Buterin. In a tweet, Brady noted that he is a big fan of Buterin. He further noted that it was through Buterin’s efforts that he was able to launch Autograph. “Thank you for everything you have built in the world of crypto,” Brady said.

Tom Brady’s venture into crypto

Brady is one of the notable investors in the cryptocurrency sector. Hence, it does not come as a surprise that he knows Buterin and his efforts in growing the cryptocurrency sector to what it is today.

One of Brady’s notable developments in the crypto sector is the launch of Autograph, an NFT platform. He noted that it was through Buterin’s efforts that it was possible to launch this NFT platform.

In September 2021, Brady announced that he would receive his salary in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana. He is among the popular sports players that have agreed to receive their payments in crypto assets.

Brady has also made personal investments in crypto. Both he and his wife have an equity stake in FTX. FTX is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchange platforms.
