Recently the American professional hockey team, LA Kings, announced the launch of its first NFT auction in celebration of the 2022 Playoffs. According to reports, the NHL group would be working with Crypto.com, a recognized crypto exchange in the US, especially in Los Angeles.
Crypto trading is now part of the sports world with virtual auctions where teams and fans can bond through NFT tokens. This will give fans of the hockey team a chance to get a unique part of their favorite team.
LA Kings manager talks about the NFT auction
Cheeseman Kelly, general manager at the LA Kings, said that the virtual auction is an achievement the team wants to celebrate with the most legal fans. Cheeseman adds that she is proud to launch the first collectible NFTs supported by Crypto.com.
The LA Kings-based virtual auction will aim to give fans a unique gift through the popularity of the NFT marketplace. Cheeseman said that new virtual pieces are expected to be launched during the event.
The new NFT auction called “Kings Playoffs 2022” will be available on the Crypto.com website from the beginning of the 2022 Playoffs. Fans who log in to the virtual system between now and 10 May will win three random NFT tokens.
NFT auction in sports based on the NHL Kings group
The auction based on LA Kings will present 3 unique pieces developed by the advisory company in the MIDAS Project virtual scheme. The digital pieces will be given out randomly after officially launching on the Crypto.com website.
But the designs will be divided into the “Shield” edition with 5,845 collectibles, “Heritage” with 88 collectibles, and “Founders” with 67 collectibles. The latest NFT edition will be exclusive and available to the team’s most loyal fans.
The director of the MIDAS Project, Diaz Nelson, believes this auction will inspire the team’s fans and virtual commerce fans. Diaz added that sports collectibles and ticket sales inspire the auction.
For the last quarter of 2021, the exchange Crypto.com was associated with the NHL team in Los Angeles. But Crypto.com has shares in the crypto website based on the sports team. With this link, not surprisingly, the crypto interface Crypto.com hosts the NFTs. There are no details on the costs of the non-fungible parts, but it is likely to be affordable enough for enthusiasts to participate in it.
