A woman from Nevada is accused of attempting to pay a hitman via the dark web with cryptocurrencies to murder her ex-husband. A woman named Kristy Felkins entered the plea very recently and faced a prison sentence for up to ten years.
Felkins is accused of involvement with a criminal organization via the dark web, and she was offering to pay in cryptocurrencies for the death of her ex-husband. During the court hearing, a conversation between her and the alleged hitman came up, highlighting why she wanted her ex-husband dead.
According to her, she did stand to get money from it but that was not the reason behind her motivation. She said that her ex-husband abused her mentally and physically. She ran but he took her children away from her. And that he now mentally abuses her children and threatens their physical well-being. He is quite the snake and the manipulator.
Further highlighting that she knows she can get 4000 in four to five weeks, and right now the children are visiting their grandparents, so they are not currently at the risk of witnessing or possibly being involved. Her family and friends are not people with a lot of money and she has already borrowed from them to try to settle things with him legally with lawyers.
She highlighted in the conversation that the money she gave to the hitman was last that she had to pay the lawyers for the next battle. And her bank accounts are bare from running, relocating, starting over, not to mention she stands to get his retirement, their house, and a large life insurance payout.
The payment to the Hitman dates back to 2016, he received around twelve separate units of Bitcoin which were around $5,000 that time, and we talk about the current times, the value would be quite far than that.
The court officials also believe that the hitman is a fraud artist who was looking for an opportunity to land a payment that he didn’t earn. Though the payment was offered and eventually given, the hit never really took place.
