Gate.io Partners With Visa to Launch Crypto Debit Card in Europe

Even if the market were to tank, it seems like Visa’s cryptocurrency operations would continue as planned. The company behind the widely-used cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io, Gate Group, has announced that it would launch a Gate Visa crypto debit card.

Gate has announced that it is now accepting registrations and waiting lists from users in the European Economic Area. Gate Global UAB, the firm’s Lithuanian subsidiary, will introduce the card.

Seamless Crypto Payments

This update will make it simpler for customers to spend their cryptocurrency at any of the 80 million merchants across the world that accept Visa. This applies to purchases made in stores or on the web. Simple-to-use features are included in the accompanying Gate Card app, giving cardholders full command over their financial situation. Founder and CEO of Gate Group, Dr. Lin Han, praised the “innovative solution” that would soon be available in the European market.

The CEO stated:

“With the Gate Visa card, our users can make seamless crypto payments to merchants worldwide. It bridges crypto with everyday life and brings greater financial inclusion to users.”

It was recently speculated that Visa might scale down its crypto initiatives. Cuy Sheffield, the payments giant’s head of crypto, brushed off these rumors. The company’s most recent action further substantiates this.

Sheffield further stated:

“Visa wants to serve as the bridge between the crypto ecosystem and our global network of merchants and financial institutions. With programs like the Gate Visa debit card, Gate Group debit cardholders are enabled with a seamless way to convert and use their digital assets to pay for goods and services, anywhere Visa is accepted.”
