Free Will – a philanthropic enterprise that engages in estate planning – says it’s established what it’s calling “Crypto for Charity” to ensure that all future crypto transactions and donations come with no fees. This means anyone that sends crypto to a non-profit on the firm’s roster will not be required to pay any more additional monies other than what they intend to give to the charitable cause.
Free Will Makes Crypto Donations More Cost-Effective
CEO of Free Will Patrick Schmitt commented in an interview:
We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ve become the first to zero among our competitive set as it pertains to transaction fees when donating crypto. One of our foremost commitments is listening to our customers and acting on feedback, and what we’ve heard from crypto owners is that donating crypto should be free. Having raised more than $6 billion in philanthropic gifts with free tools in estate planning and real-time giving, we’re proud to offer a non-fee platform for cryptocurrency. Now, donating crypto via our platform is more cost-effective than donating with a credit card. Democratizing access to estate planning and philanthropy are core to the Free Will brand, and we’re proud to continue to be leaders here mere months after jumping into the crypto space.
In addition to crypto, Free Will also allows its customers to donate stock shares. Among the company’s biggest services is helping people prepare their wills and ensuring their money goes to the charitable platforms nearest and dearest to their hearts. Furthermore, users can also donate non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and they can also give to multiple charities at the same time through single transactions if they so choose. All this comes with no fees from this point on.
Crypto donations have taken on greater form in recent years given that the COVID pandemic made everyone afraid to pass around cash and other items that had likely been handled by multiple people.
Several churches, for example, did away with their collection plates and baskets during the pandemic and allowed people to donate crypto through online means so that they could avoid physical contact with others. This is a trend that has seemingly caught on, and many other companies have become more open-minded when it comes to crypto donations.
Things Will Be Much Easier
Free Will and Crypto for Charity currently allow customers to donate to more than 50,000 individual charity platforms situated in America. Crypto for Charity was launched in December of last year (about one month after BTC achieved its $68,000 all-time high) during a time when roughly 90 percent of American charities did not have the means or the abilities to accept crypto donations.
However, it appears demand has heavily increased in the past nine months, and Free Will has since brought on several additional partners to help expand its horizons.
