With $1.6 trillion in assets, Franklin Templeton already manages an $811 million crypto ETF in the United States. Its flagship product, the Franklin Bitcoin ETF (EZBC), holds $415 million in assets, demonstrating the company’s existing commitment to the crypto sector. While Franklin Templeton has not made any immediate moves, a representative confirmed that the firm is closely monitoring the regulatory landscape in Europe. The company has stated that the potential launch of a European crypto ETP is not immediate, but it could soon become a reality to meet the growing needs of its clients.
Investor Interest in Crypto ETPs Remains Strong
Despite some setbacks in the cryptocurrency market, including a drop in Bitcoin’s value from its January peak and Ethereum’s significant decline, interest in cryptocurrency ETPs remains robust. A recent survey by Focal Data found that 75% of professional investors are interested in investing in a bitcoin ETP over the next two years. This suggests strong demand for regulated, secure investment vehicles in the digital asset space, even in the face of price fluctuations.
