Did Shiba Inu’s Shytoshi Kusama Launch Shy Coin? Team Clears the Air

Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie, recently addressed concerns about why Shytoshi Kusama became involved with a token launched on Solana instead of Shibarium. The discussion unfolded on X after a user asked, “Why did they build Shy coin on Solana and not on Shibarium?”

Shiba Inu’s Lucie Opens Up On Shy Coin Launch

Lucie clarified that Shy did not initiate the token on Solana. Instead, someone sent him half of the supply, prompting his involvement. “Shy didn’t launch anything on Solana—someone just sent him half the supply, and he reacted in his usual way: burning, observing, and then stepping in when things started looking chaotic. Classic Shy move,” she explained.

The Shiba Inu marketing lead further detailed how the situation escalated, with “rogue admins trying to scam their own community,” leading Shy to take a more active role in developing utility for the token. Additionally, Lucie noted that the supportive nature of the community on Telegram influenced Shy’s decision to remain involved. “Meanwhile, their Telegram is full of genuinely sweet people, which makes it all the more understandable why he stuck around.”

Despite his engagement with SHY on Solana, Lucie reassured the Shiba Inu community that Shy remains committed to his role within the Shiba ecosystem. “At the end of the day, Shy still works for Shib as an ambassador, so nothing changes—except now he has an ‘adopted baby SHY’ on Solana.”

When pressed further about why Shy did not build the token on Shibarium instead, Lucie pointed to a broader issue: Solana’s dominance in attracting token launches. “Because these tokens are launched to famous people by Solana cabals—today, I think they did it to the Cardano founder,” she stated.

Shiba Inu’s Lucie emphasized that Shibarium’s challenge lies in making itself the preferred choice for developers and influencers looking to launch projects. “That’s where we need to grow: attracting people who will launch on Shibarium.” The exchange highlights the ongoing competition between blockchain ecosystems and the need for Shibarium to position itself as a compelling alternative for token launches.
