Crypto Sleuth Uncovers Sahil Arora’s Celebrity Token Scheme

Cryptocurrency influencers and celebrities continue to be controversial, mainly because of their role in token pumps. The latest figure to come under scrutiny is Sahil Arora, a Dubai-based crypto entrepreneur known for launching tokens endorsed by celebrities.

While initial reports suggested massive profits, closer examination reveals a more complex picture.

The Crypto Slueth’s Analysis

Blockchain analysis firm Bubblemaps initially reported that Sahil had made $26.4 million through his celebrity-endorsed token launches since the beginning of 2024.

However, prominent crypto investigator ZachXBT quickly challenged this claim, estimating the actual earnings to be significantly lower, between $2-3 million at most.

The discrepancy arose from a misidentification of wallet addresses. Bubblemaps had mistakenly attributed a Poloniex exchange hot wallet to Sahil, inflating the profit figures.

Sahil’s operation involved launching tokens and enlisting celebrities like Floyd Mayweather, Caitlyn Jenner, and Iggy Azalea to promote them on social media. He would then allegedly dump his holdings as soon as the celebrity tweets went live, using their audience as exit liquidity.

While the scheme initially gained traction, ZachXBT noted that the celebrity token meta “died off extremely quickly,” limiting its profitability.

The controversy surrounding Sahil’s activities serves as a reminder of the risks associated with celebrity-endorsed crypto projects.
