A major crypto-focused political action committee is rapidly becoming one of Washington’s most influential election forces.
Fairshake, a PAC backed by digital asset giants including Coinbase and Ripple, has accumulated $141 million to shape the outcome of U.S. elections in favor of crypto-friendly candidates.
This year alone, the PAC has raised $52 million, with Coinbase providing nearly half. It now holds more than it spent during the entire 2024 cycle—when it made headlines for pouring over $130 million into congressional races to bolster pro-crypto voices and undermine opponents.
Although Fairshake had no role in the 2022 midterms, it emerged as a dominant force in 2024 and appears poised to expand its influence in the 2026 elections. The group has already injected millions into recent House races in Virginia and Florida, supporting candidates like Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis—both considered key crypto allies.
Fairshake’s growing political weight coincides with Republican efforts in the House to pass three major crypto bills, including the high-profile GENIUS Act. President Trump has publicly pushed for unified Republican support, while Democrats have raised concerns over ethics and transparency, especially given the industry’s financial ties to lawmakers and Trump’s own crypto ventures.
With momentum building and Fairshake showing no signs of slowing, the stage is set for a battle over digital asset regulation that could redefine the industry’s future in Washington.
