Crypto.com has unveiled a powerful new feature for U.S. users, allowing seamless stock and IRA transfers from other platforms—without triggering taxes.
The update comes through a strategic integration with Plaid’s Investments Move, a tool designed to make brokerage account transfers nearly effortless and lightning-fast.
Rather than forcing users to sell assets and face capital gains taxes, the platform now enables direct asset transfers in under a minute. The process, powered by Plaid’s automation, bypasses manual form-filling and reduces errors that typically delay transfers or cause them to fail.
What’s more, Crypto.com is offering up to a 3% bonus for eligible users who move their investments using this feature.
This marks a shift in how retail investors can migrate between platforms. By eliminating the usual paperwork and delays, Crypto.com hopes to make its ecosystem more appealing to users who are fed up with traditional brokerage barriers.
According to company executives, this is just the latest move in Crypto.com’s broader mission to simplify finance and onboard millions more users into the digital asset world. Travis McGhee, Global Head of Capital Markets, said the integration is about “removing friction and offering real value.”
Plaid’s Brian Dammeir echoed that view, calling manual transfers a “pain point” that open finance can finally solve.
The feature is now available to all Crypto.com users in the U.S. and is compatible with most major brokerages. For a growing number of investors looking to consolidate their portfolios without losing gains to taxes or time, this could be a game-changer.
