Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has introduced new features to its Binance Junior platform, adding Red Packet gifting, Merchant Pay functionality, and integrated educational tools designed to support family-focused crypto savings and learning.
In an announcement shared with Finbold on February 19, the company said the updates build on Binance Junior’s initial launch in December 2025. The platform is designed for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17 and operates under full parental supervision, allowing families to introduce digital asset savings and financial literacy in a controlled environment.
With Binance Junior, parents can enable Red Packet crypto gifts and supervised spending, so kids enjoy what they love with built‑in limits and family‑first controls.
Age‑inappropriate categories (alcohol, tobacco, gambling) are blocked for Juniors.

Binance Junior update expands savings, payments, and educational access
The latest update enables parents to activate Red Packet gifting and peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers from adult Binance accounts to Junior accounts.
Relatives and family friends can now send crypto gifts directly to Junior wallets, subject to an annual receipt limit of $12,000 for crypto transfers and Red Packet gifts combined. Once this threshold is reached, accounts will not be able to receive additional transfers until the next cycle.
Parents retain full control over whether to enable or disable these features and can monitor account activity through the platform’s interface.
Binance has also added Merchant Pay functionality, allowing Junior users to make payments at selected merchants. Certain merchant category codes, including gambling and tobacco, remain restricted. The feature is designed to give young users practical experience managing digital funds while operating within parent-defined controls.
Alongside payments and gifting features, Binance has integrated its illustrated “ABCs of Crypto” eBook directly into the app. The mobile-friendly educational resource explains core crypto concepts in simplified terms to support financial learning within families.
Yi He, Binance co-CEO, said:
“Binance Junior is a family-focused platform designed for children to manage their allowance with savings and payment features. By helping children develop good money management habits early on, we hope to empower families to build a strong foundation for their financial future. […] Many of the new features were inspired by valuable feedback from our community, and we have more exciting updates on the way. Our goal is to make it easier and more fun for families to teach and learn about crypto together in a safe environment. It’s important that our children are prepared for a future where digital finance plays a vital role,” she added.
Binance said Binance Junior remains focused on combining savings tools with educational resources under parental supervision, with the new features now live on the platform.
