Trading platform Webull has rolled out cryptocurrency services in Australia, expanding its global push just days after reviving its crypto business in the United States.
The Australian arm of Webull announced on Wednesday that users will now be able to trade more than 240 digital assets through a partnership with Coinbase Prime.
Rob Talevski, CEO of Webull Securities Australia, said the move reflects the firm’s mission to give investors more choice across asset classes.
Return to Crypto
Webull’s expansion comes after the platform reintroduced crypto services in the U.S. on Monday, ending a two-year absence. The company pulled back in 2023, citing regulatory uncertainty as it sought to go public.
CEO Anthony Denier said the decision to bring crypto back was driven by customer demand, describing it as a “natural return to what clients expect.”
Earlier this year, Webull also added crypto trading in Brazil, with more regional rollouts expected in the months ahead.
Australia’s Push for Regulatory Clarity
The launch in Australia arrives at a sensitive time for the local crypto industry, which has urged the government to fast-track digital asset legislation to keep pace with international markets. Industry leaders, including Binance’s APAC legal head Joy Lam, have stressed the need for timely regulation after years of delays.
Despite regulatory uncertainty, Webull is pressing ahead with its expansion, betting that broader access to cryptocurrencies will attract both retail and institutional investors. The company’s stock (BULL) has shown modest movement, edging up slightly this week after a 2.67% dip on Monday.
