Yat Siu is the co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, a global leader in blockchain and gaming. In 1998, he founded Outblaze, an award-winning provider of multilingual white-label web services. One of those incubated companies is Animoca Brands, which was created in 2014.
His belief in Web3 has cut through the years, and he embraces market changes as they come. He says NFTs have transitioned into the memecoin craze.
In a recent podcast interview with the Global Blockchain Show, he said, “I would say NFTs back in 2021 – 2022 are memecoins today. Many of the constructions of the ideas we have with NFTs, whether cultural, social or with some economic value, is actually the same narrative we have today with memecoins.”
