Altcoins News: Pineapple Financial Pivots Treasury to High-Yield INJ Altcoin

NYSE-listed Pineapple Financial launches a $100M Injective (INJ) treasury, marking a major shift toward high-yield altcoin staking and institutional crypto adoption.

Pineapple Financial launches a major new digital asset strategy. The firm established a $100 million Injective (INJ) treasury. This reflects a definite change in corporate finance strategy. With such a Bitcoin rush, companies are looking elsewhere for passive treasury yield. Altcoin staking now serves as a new income source of recurring income. This is a new wave of institutional crypto adoption.

Digital Asset Treasuries Pivot to High-Yield Altcoins

The Toronto-based fintech company is a publicly traded company evident in NYSE American. Pineapple Financial performed the first buy of INJ tokens. This follows a successful $100 million private placement. The placement backed the new digital asset treasury. Pineapple is the first publicly listed company with an interest in INJ. This helps cement its place as a pioneer in Digital Asset Treasury.

Per the first strategic purchase, 678,353 INJ tokens were purchased. That is an amount equal to roughly $8.9 million in value. This cash acquisition is the first of many planned acquisitions. Pineapple is looking to accumulate more INJ tokens quickly. The company has a strategy of becoming the largest holder and staker of INJ.

All acquired INJ tokens will immediately go on-chain, and furthermore, they will be staked within the Injective network. This staking will likely provide very high annual rewards. The expected rate is about 12.75% a year. This is an income that helps to expand the assets of the company. This generates a strong new revenue stream.

The 12.75% yield that is expected is highly competitive on the market. It is almost twice the Ethereum current staking rate. Not only that, it is approximately 1.8 times higher than the current yield of Solana. This is a pretty strong return for the value of INJ staking rewards. This enables investors to generate significant passive income, and it ranks among the highest offered on major chains.

New INJ Treasury to Drive Global Onchain Finance Adoption

Shubha Dasgupta, Pineapple CEO, affirmed the future potential of the INJ token. The move puts in place a pioneering Digital Asset Treasury company. Pineapple strives to build the world’s most productive INJ platform. This platform is in favor of the larger growth of decentralized finance.

Moreover, Injective Labs’ Eric Chen said he was very excited. He noted that the first strategic step taken by Pineapple was important. The firm also positions its fundamental business along with the infrastructure of Injective. This helps to boost the global adoption of on-chain finance.

This treasury strategy is more than just passive income generation. Pineapple plans to integrate Injective’s infrastructure entirely. This includes data, servicing and settlement operations. It also covers real-world asset tokenization (RWA). This helps their on-chain mortgage finance vision. Such deep integration crucially changes the traditional financial models.

There are very significant inherent risks in this trend of the rising altcoin treasury. Volatility in the markets can lead to depreciation in asset prices. Liquidity concerns during token unbonding periods may come up. However, staking is beneficial to mitigate the inflation of tokens in large holders. This approach creates new risk and yield management discussions. Institutional players need to actively control these complex factors.
