Terra Classic’s most awaited decentralized finance (Defi) platform Terraport was launched on March 31, 2023, by Terraport Finance. The Terraport foundation informed Terra users about the launch on Twitter.
The project was scheduled to be launched at 16:00(UTC) but was delayed due to the loading of liquidity pools. The DeFi platform was launched after completing a 72-hour token distribution event for TERRA.
The Terraport platform will feature a LUNC-based DEX (Decentralized Exchange) with a launchpad specifically developed for the Terra Classic Ecosystem.
The platform allows for the swapping of all three digital assets of TerraForm labs. It also has the price charts of three tokens – LUNC, TERRA and UST (Terra’s stablecoin). Terraport’s recent launch is a basic version of the Terra Classic DeFi.
The DeFi platform of Terra Classic was developed by TerraCVita. TerraCVita is developing an upgraded version of Terraport, and is likely to be released by the end of the second quarter of 2023. Terraport’s version 3 will be launched by the end of the fourth quarter of 2023.
TerraCVita is also planning to buy back LUNC and burn them with 27% of the fees accrued from Terraport, which is one of the major contributions of the platform developer in the burn initiative.
According to a TheCoinRepublic report dated March 31, 2023, Do Kwon, the co-founder of TerraForm Labs, was detained by police at Podgorica airport in Montenegro. Kwon was arrested with some forged documents, including passports and driving license.
On April 1, 2023, the media outlet reported that a South Korean court had denied an arrest warrant against the other co-founder of TerraForm labs, Daniel Shin, who left the company in 2022.
The UST, KRT and EUT were renamed and named Terra Classic stablecoin. At press time, Terra Classic (LUNC) traded at $0.0001261 with a 24-hour trading volume of $52,211,477. The trading volume of LUNC increased by over 7% in the last 24 hours.
Terra Classic has 62 positions in the crypto market with a market capitalization of $$744,127,698. According to CoinMarketCap, Terra Classic’s all-time is around $119, registered on April 05, 2023. In the trading session of the last six months, LUNC prices fell over 59%.
