Ripple Invests $5M to Expand Blockchain Education and Research Across APAC – Coincu

Ripple has committed over $5 million in new funding to strengthen blockchain education and research in the Asia-Pacific region. The funds will be distributed through its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), with support directed toward institutions in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, and Australia.

As part of this move, the US has resumed its ties with South Korea and Singapore and added fresh partnerships in Taiwan and Australia. The primary purpose of the funding is to boost research, establish XRP Ledger educational structures, and support student-led blockchain initiatives.

Strengthening Academic Collaboration Across Asia

Korea University has renewed a partnership agreement that will run for six years and amount to $1.1 million. In this case, research activities will deal with sharding in blockchain and privacy while professors lead different initiatives on zk-SNARKs and crypto finance for gadgets. At Hanyang University, the company is helping efforts to update privacy features and improve zk-SNARKs effectiveness.

UBRI is still assisting blockchain research by working with Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo in Japan. Combined, the two charities have obtained more than $1.5 million. The study in these institutions is mainly focused on integrating blockchain with different systems, digital assets, and secure transactions.

In Singapore, Ripple is reinforcing its ties by giving a grant to Nanyang Technological University and keeping up its funding for the National University. All the investments put together in the country have surpassed the amount of $3 million. In NTU, people are building an AI agent network using XRPL so that AI systems are more transparent and collaborative.

Expanding Research Footprint in Taiwan and Australia

Ripple has added Taiwan to the countries it serves, handing out a six-figure grant to the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. Tokenizing assets found in the real world using XRPL, Ethereum, and Solana is the main point of this project. The university is going to launch an XRPL validator and a student builders club to encourage local involvement with blockchain.

Ripple has deepened its dedication to Australia by offering more resources to Victoria University and keeping support for the Australian National University. They will put together courses on blockchain, operate validators on the XRPL, and focus on legal investigations into digital payments.
