Polkadot is shifting considerably toward improving decentralization due to adopting the Decentralized Nodes Program. Through the efforts of the Web3 Foundation, Polkadot aims to enrich the Polkadot network by fortifying the representatives of this project in different forms.
By emphasizing security, sustainability, and trust-free operation, the new program helps expand the validators’ possibilities to promote the decentralization of the ecosystem. Plkadot intimated the crypto community about this new update through its official X account.
Polkadot to Boost Network Decentralization
The Decentralized Nodes Program is designed to further decentralize and secure the Polkadot network. This means choosing validators for this initiative will help ensure the network runs optimally. The application is public, and the validators’ application has been open until October 31, 2024. The network reserve allows every eligible validator to apply for at most two nodes.
Technical knowledge, trustworthiness, the level of network decentralization, and an individual’s contribution to the network will be the critical factors in determining validators. It is also essential to how one connects with the Polkadot community and how they participate in governance. Validators who react promptly to network issues and display high performance will likely be selected.
Selected validators will be part of a four-month unit beginning in November 2024. During this time, they will receive nominations from the Web3 Foundation and contribute to the network’s security and robustness. Validators who excel may have their term extended, ensuring their continuous involvement in network decentralization.
Polkadot Offers Various Benefits for the Validators
Participants in the program will gain recognition within the Polkadot community, boosting their visibility and trust. The Web3 Foundation will provide support through nominations and community engagement, improving the validator’s profile. Furthermore, community nominations and validators can enhance Polkadot’s security by remaining in the active set.
However, with the Decentralized Nodes Program, Polkadot is coming out in pomp, saying it is ready to continue laying the foundation of a robust decentralized network. Validators can assume an active part in determining the development direction of blockchain platforms and contribute to the development of Polkadot.
