NRW.BANK, a prominent German state development bank, has successfully launched a blockchain bond valued at 100 million euros (approximately 116.7 million USD). This innovative two-year financial instrument was executed on the Polygon blockchain, leveraging the advanced infrastructure provided by Cashlink Technologies, a BaFin-licensed crypto securities registrar. This issuance represents a pioneering step under Germany’s Electronic Securities Act (eWpG), enabling bonds to be fully digitized and recorded on a blockchain without the need for traditional physical certificates.
