Microsoft Taps Blockchain Data in Azure Fabric via Space and Time Integration

Microsoft is bringing real-time blockchain data to its analytics ecosystem, announcing a new integration with crypto data startup Space and Time Labs (SXT).

The move embeds verifiable, on-chain data directly into Microsoft Fabric, the company’s end-to-end data analytics platform.

The integration, revealed Tuesday, will give Fabric users access to live feeds from major blockchains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Sui, all delivered via Microsoft’s Azure OneLake — described as a “OneDrive for data” offering unified cloud storage.

A Strategic Partnership

“This is a direct integration and product offering in Fabric,” said Nate Holiday, co-founder and CEO of Space and Time. “It’s a combined new product to the masses.”

The collaboration builds on a preexisting relationship, as Space and Time has previously been backed by a Microsoft venture arm. Now, the partnership takes a significant step forward, weaving blockchain data into Microsoft’s broader analytics stack.

Why It Matters

With the rise of decentralized applications and digital assets, the need for trustless, transparent data is growing across industries — not just in crypto. By leveraging Space and Time’s verifiable computation engine, Microsoft is positioning Fabric as a powerful tool for developers, analysts, and enterprises looking to bridge Web2 and Web3.

“By integrating with Microsoft Fabric, Space and Time not only expands our ability to serve developers and enterprises with reliable data but also aligns with our mission to democratize technology across diverse industries,” said Sruly Taber, Principal Product Manager for Microsoft Fabric.

About Microsoft Fabric

Microsoft Fabric is a unified analytics platform that consolidates services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI into a single environment. It aims to streamline everything from data ingestion and transformation to visualization and AI integration — now with blockchain data in the mix.

A Broader Trend in Enterprise Blockchain Adoption

This move highlights Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to embracing blockchain technology beyond its early experimentation. As enterprises continue to explore blockchain for everything from supply chain to finance, native support for on-chain data in analytics tools could become a standard requirement.
